Top 4 benefits of Jamaican Jackfruit

There is one spot in Jamaica, that is famous for having Jackfruit all year round, so kareemsquest.com stopped by, Linstead Bypass, St. Catherine, to learn more about the coveted fruit. Shaded by a big Gungo tree, are about five stalls that have equally delightful jackfruits and a resident spokesperson, Devon, who was quick to talk about the popularity of the fruit.

“We have to search all over Jamaica to find our Jackfruits, sometimes we are in some deep bushes, to get the quality that we want,” Devon revealed to kareemsquest.com.

Their hard work has definitely been paying off, as their customer base has stayed loyal and consistent. “Most times we don’t have enough hands to sell Jackfruit, as dem sell off fast. We have to encourage persons to buy other fruits, to balance off the thing.”

According to research papers read by kareemsquest.com, the fruit was originally from South Asia, and was brought to Jamaica in 1782, when the Jackfruit plants were said to have been captured from a French ship destined for Martinique and taken to Jamaica.
