The Rooms

The Rockhouse Hotel has 40 rooms, some with a thatched roof, stone walls and wooden furniture that blend in with the natural surroundings. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning, minibar, safe and Wi-Fi. Some rooms have outdoor showers, private balconies or plunge pools. We stayed in a premium villa, which had a king-sized bed, a sofa bed, a large bathroom and a veranda with a hammock and stairs leading down to the water. The view from our room was breathtaking, especially at sunset.

The Food

The Rockhouse Hotel has two award-winning restaurants that serve delicious Jamaican cuisine with fresh and local ingredients. The Rockhouse Restaurant and Bar is located on a deck overlooking the sea and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The menu features dishes such as ackee and saltfish, jerk chicken, curry goat and lobster. The Pushcart Restaurant and Rum Bar is a more casual spot that serves street food such as patties, jerk pork, fish tacos and plantain chips. The rum bar has a wide selection of local and international rums that you can sample or mix into cocktails.

The Spa

One of the highlights of our stay at the Rockhouse Hotel was visiting the spa, which is set in a tropical garden with cabanas overlooking the sea. The spa offers a range of treatments such as massages, facials, scrubs and wraps that use natural products made from local herbs, fruits and flowers. You can try the Blue Mountain coffee scrub that will leave your skin feeling smooth and invigorated. The spa also offers yoga classes that are suitable for all levels.

The Activities

The Rockhouse Hotel has plenty of activities to keep you entertained during your stay. You can swim in the horizon pool, sunbathe on the lounge chairs, or take the stairs carved into the rock down to the cove for snorkeling on the reef. You can also borrow kayaks, paddle boards or glass-bottom boats to explore the coast. If you want to venture out of the hotel, you can take a shuttle to Skylark Negril Beach Resort, which is owned by the same company and has a beautiful beach with tents, lounges and seaside service. You can also book tours to nearby attractions such as JamWest Adventure Park.

The Service

The service at the Rockhouse Hotel was impeccable from start to finish. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive to every detail. They greeted us by name, arranged transportation, gave us recommendations for things to do and made sure we had everything we needed.
