Unlike many beachfront properties, Ocean Eden Bay offers a touch of seclusion as a luxurious adults-only getaway in Trelawny. Nestled a few minutes away from the main road, it unfolds like an undiscovered treasure upon arrival. Boasting 444 rooms, here, serenity meets style, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and vibrant entertainment. It must be noted that its sister property Ocean Coral Spring, which is a family friendly all-inclusive resort sits next to it.
Arrival and Lobby Grandeur
The moment you pull up, a wave of personalised attention washes over you. A digital screen displays your name, a warm welcome from the staff. For an extra dose of luxury, consider the Privilege experience, complete with butler service, late check-out, and a welcome gift. The regular check-in process is a breeze as well, with comfortable seating for guests to unwind. But a particularly brilliant touch is the fully functional shower area – ideal for freshening up after a long journey.

Culinary Delights Await
By 1 pm, my stomach was rumbling. Luckily, the friendly staff pointed me towards The Jerk Jamaican Grill, their signature scent wafting invitingly through the air. As I exited the lobby, the resort’s grandeur unfolded before me – two massive buildings flanking a lively pool area. Here, laughter and friendly competition filled the air with water basketball games and dance contests. The hotel’s entertainment team added to the merriment with playful challenges for guests.
Reaching The Jerk Jamaican Grill, I encountered a happy line-up, a testament to their stellar reputation. And the wait was absolutely worth it. The jerk chicken and pork, served with festival (fried dough), was an explosion of flavours.
Room with a View (and Swim-Up Option!)
By the time I returned to the lobby, my room was ready. A golf cart whisked me away to my sanctuary, a delightful surprise waiting inside.
A welcome note adorned the bed, accompanied by a delightful fruit and wine basket – a perfect touch for my junior suite. Stepping onto the balcony, I was greeted by a breathtaking ocean view.
The room’s design mirrored the lobby’s modern elegance, with wooden floors and pops of white, dark brown, and lime green.
But the highlight? A swim-up suite offers the ultimate in poolside indulgence. I even spotted a group who cleverly booked three adjacent swim-up rooms, creating their own private party pad complete with music and laughter every evening.
For the ultimate in luxury, the Privilege Roof Top Master Suite beckons. This duplex haven offers a cosy, romantic ambiance with a panoramic ocean view from the rooftop terrace.
Imagine unwinding in the Jacuzzi after a day of exploration, or hosting a small gathering in the spacious lounge area.
A Foodie’s Paradise and Beyond
One of the biggest perks of staying at Ocean Eden Bay is access to its sister resort, Ocean Coral Spring. This translates to a mind-boggling array of over 10 restaurants to tantalise your taste buds. For breakfast, Martha’s Market boasts a tempting selection of local and international fare. Think fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon alongside Jamaican staples like ackee and saltfish or callaloo.
Feeling the burn from an invigorating gym session (relatively empty after 8:30 am!),
I booked a hydrotherapy treatment at the spa, a haven of pampering that also offers hair, lash, and nail services.
Beach Bliss and Beyond
The allure of the beach proved irresistible. The privilege section offered private cabanas on a first-come, first-served basis.
Two swings nestled in the water provided the perfect photo op, a favourite amongst the ladies. I soaked up the sun until it was time for lunch at another recommended spot, The Marlin Beach Resort. This beachfront haven offers a relaxed setting to devour delicious barbeque chicken. The restaurant transforms into an a la carte haven of fresh seafood specialties in the evenings. Indulge in air-conditioned comfort or soak in the sea breeze on the outdoor patio.
The afternoon unfolded with me having lively conversations by the poolside, exchanging stories and cultural anecdotes with fellow guests. As the entertainment team revved up the party atmosphere, laughter and dance moves filled the air.
An Evening of Entertainment
The highly sought-after Senses restaurant was my reservation for the evening. This unique dining experience unfolds within an amphitheatre-setting. The night I visited, a celebration of Bob Marley took centre stage. The talented entertainment team brought Marley’s iconic music to life with a captivating hour-long performance, each song a theatrical masterpiece. All this was done while the guests enjoyed a fine dining of surf and turf.
