Man blames wife for buying sex

A 55-year-old Jamaican man, who is known to The Star as P.B, embarked on a life-changing journey a few years ago. He met a fellow Jamaican woman while she was visiting the island, and their connection blossomed into an unexpected friendship.

 A Tale of Long-Distance Love

P.B. and his newfound friend maintained their connection even when she returned to America. They spoke on the phone daily and shared their dreams, hopes, and aspirations. P.B. was open and honest about his life in Jamaica, including his family and current relationship.

The Promise of a Better Life

P.B.’s American friend believed he had the potential for success in the United States due to his qualifications. She saw a brighter future for him, and this inspired hope in P.B. He made it clear to his partner in Jamaica that he intended to explore new opportunities in America. “She did not fuss with me. I told her that I would send money for her often. I spoke to my children and told them that I would never abandon them and I would try to help them.”

Marriage and Migrating to America

The story took an unexpected turn when the Jamaican woman returned to the island, and P.B. decided to marry her. He eventually joined her in America, filled with anticipation for a new life together.

Unveiling True Colors

However, as P.B. settled into his new life in America, he began to notice a significant change in his wife’s behavior. She seemed more interested in his money than their relationship. P.B. felt the pressure to provide for her financially. “I had to get up early in the mornings to catch the train to go to work, and when I got home, I had to cook something to eat,” he revealed.

Sacrificing Family and Self

P.B.’s wife discouraged him from sending money to his children’s mother and even to help support his younger children who were still in school. This financial strain took a toll on P.B.’s well-being. “Every cent I earned, I had to give to her. She didn’t want me to send anything to my children’s mother, not even to help the younger ones who were in school.”

Love Lost and Deprivation

P.B., a man used to affection from his partner, found himself in a marriage devoid of intimacy. His attempts to connect with his wife were met with rejection and indifference. The lack of emotional and physical connection left him feeling isolated. “I am a man who was accustomed to be loved by a woman two or three times per week. When I tried to make love to her, she said she did not want me to harass her,” he stated.

A Difficult Decision

In a bid to reclaim some financial independence, P.B. withdrew from providing his wife with all his earnings. This decision resulted in his wife asking him to leave their shared life. “I never got involved with prostitutes in Jamaica, but I got tired of masturbation, so I bought sex on the corner streets in New York. I stopped giving this woman all my money, so she told me I should leave.”

A Fresh Start

Following his separation from his wife, P.B. found himself in unfamiliar territory but determined to regain his independence. He found a new place to stay and embarked on the journey of divorce.
