Internet sensations Taccara Rae and Yinka Lawanson, who go by their social media handle Ling and Lamb, recently visited Jamaica to shoot Lamb’s music video Count your Blessings. Going by the stage name Lamboginny, KareemsQuest.com got the scoop that the social media star chose to do a remix to the already popular song, and this time, he incorporated dancehall veteran Beenie Man.
Of course being on the land of ‘wood and water’ the couple took their adventures to the sea, where they went parasailing at Kelly’s Watersports. For this activity Lamb could be heard, on a video they posted on their page, comically screaming for help and redundantly asking, ‘why is my wife laughing at me?’
They also used much of their time in Montego Bay, Jamaica’s unofficial second city, to shoot some of their scenes for the music video. After this, KareemsQuest.com was told that the two went to Kingston, where they met up with The Doctor, Beenie Man, who added a stamp of approval to the already successful song.
Count your Blessing
When Lamb migrated to the United States, he confessed to KareemsQuest.com that he was feeling depressed, with a lot of negative thoughts. “Moving from Nigeria to America was a struggle at first. I felt like I wasn’t achieving a lot of the things I had planned to do, so I was in a very dark place,” Lamb shared. Rather than staying in that state, he shifted his mind set and began to count the many blessings in his life. “I kept praying and then I heard a quiet voice say, ‘Count your blessings’, look around you and see all the beautiful things you have. Don’t allow what you are expecting, to rob you of what God has already given you.”
A reinvigorated Lamb went to the studio and penned a melodic song that shows gratitude for life and the abundance of gifts that come with it. The affirmatively titled, Count your Blessing, chronicles his view on life, starting with a morning routine that acknowledges the simple things. In many ways, it embodies a celebratory outlook that encourages persons to look at the glass as half full rather than half empty.
The power couple have amassed a mega following on the internet, that ranks in the millions for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Tik Tok. In their episodes, they speak candidly about relationship issues and food, while throwing in a few pranks on each other. Ling, who he refers to as his ‘everything’ is usually ‘the voice of reason’ while Lamb is outspoken in a multifaceted manner. They provide a perfect balance that is both entertaining and inspiring to their audience.
